Vietnamese in Australia to be brought home in early June

The first flight organized to bring Vietnamese citizens in Australia back home is to be scheduled in early June.

Embassy responds to queries on citizen protection measures in Canada

The information was released by the Consulate General of Vietnam in Sydney, Australia.

Recently, the Vietnamese Embassy in Australia has coordinated with the Vietnamese Consulates General in Sydney and Perth to work with domestic authorities to arrange a flight to bring back home Vietnamese citizens in Australia, who are on a priority list according to the direction of the government.

The first flight, planned in early June, will depart from Sydney and bring about 300 Vietnamese citizens. The citizens will pay for air tickets. After returning home, they will be taken to a concentrated isolation area for 14 days as prescribed.

The Vietnamese citizens who are allowed to return home on this flight are students under 18 years old; students who have reserved or completed their study program; elderly people; people being treated or those who suffer from underlying health issues such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and stranded tourists or other disadvantaged people.

Citizens who desire to return home should urgently register according to the form on the website of the Vietnamese Embassy in Australia, Vietnamese Consulates General in Sydney and Perth by their gmail account. The deadline is at 17h00, May 18th.

Citizens who have emailed the embassy and Consulates General to express their desire to return home should also officially register on the form to supply information and confirm their desire.
