Vietnamese business people in Cambodia on May 25th presented gifts to support poor Vietnamese - Cambodian people seriously impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic in Phnom Penh.

At the event, 130 gifts, including rice, sugar, fish sauce, monosodium glutamate and confectionery, come from Vietnamese business people and the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia.

Mr. Le Manh Hung, owner of Hoa Sen restaurant in Phnom Penh, Head of the group of business people presenting charitable gifts, said that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the life of the Vietnamese - Cambodian community is impacted seriously, even small businesses such as his restaurant also meet various difficulties. Thus some Vietnamese businesses in Cambodia join hands to donate and present small gifts to help poor Vietnamese people overcome the difficult period.

While Nguyen Tan Si, a person receiving the gift, said that over the past time, his family meets various difficulties due to unsustainable jobs. The rice and food he received can help his family in some following days.

This is the third time the group of Vietnamese business people has helped poor Vietnamese people in Phnom Penh with the total of 300 gifts. In the coming time, the group plans to transfer relief gifts to areas facing difficult transport to help poor families./.
