The event aims to promote ASEAN culture to international friends, while strengthening solidarity, friendship, connection and integration among the ASEAN community and the region.
As the ASEAN Chair in 2024, the Lao Embassy in Singapore hosted the event.
Speaking at the gala night, Lao Ambassador to Singapore Sengkeo Pouangpadith reviewed the major milestones achieved by ASEAN under Laos’ ASEAN Chairmanship, emphasizing that ASEAN’s unity and collective action play a central role in maintaining peace, stability, prosperity and harmony in the region.
The Lao Ambassador also announced the transfer of the role of Chair of ASEAN Gala Night 2025 to Malaysia, the upcoming ASEAN Chair, believing in the continuation of the collective vision for a peaceful and prosperous Southeast Asia.
At ASEAN Gala Night 2024, participants enjoyed special art performances and fashion shows from ASEAN countries. The singing, dancing and musical performance of Vietnam is a combination of many art forms, contributing to promoting Vietnam’s image to international friends, while also conveying the message of a strong Vietnam in the rising era, connecting with international friends for sustainable development.
At the event, food booths and products imbued with the traditional culture of the participating countries attracted a large number of visitors.
As every year, Vietnam's food booth attracted a large number of diners who wanted to enjoy typical dishes such as fried spring rolls, spring rolls and noodle soup (Pho).
In addition, participants also joined the "lucky draw" game of each ASEAN country, bringing excitement to the festival.
The event, held annually in Singapore, is an opportunity for ASEAN countries to strengthen solidarity through cultural and culinary exchanges, towards a cooperative society, a cohesive and prosperous ASEAN community./.
