ASEAN Sports and Family Day held in Geneva

The ASEAN Sports and Family Day 2024 was held in Geneva on September 20 with the participation of over 500 officials, diplomatic staff and their families of permanent delegations of ASEAN countries to the United Nations, the World Trade Organization (WTO) and other international organizations based in the "diplomatic capital" of Switzerland.

Speaking at the event, Philippine Ambassador Antonio Javier Teehankee affirmed that this year's event is an opportunity to further strengthen friendship, solidarity, cooperation and mutual support among members of the ASEAN community in Geneva, as well as an opportunity for colleagues and families to exchange and share leisure activities.

At the event, the Vietnamese delegation enthusiastically participated in sports activities and mass games, while promoting Vietnamese cuisine and exchanging with members from embassies and representative agencies of ASEAN countries in the area.

After the competition, participants enjoyed many typical dishes and traditional songs of ASEAN member countries.

Sharing with the Vietnam News Agency correspondent, Ambassador Mai Phan Dung, Head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations, the WTO and other international organizations in Geneva, affirmed that participating in each game, each sport, enjoying food and drinks at the festival is an opportunity for members to feel and understand more about the culture, the country and the people of ASEAN member countries.

He said that this is even more meaningful for children, the future generations who will continue and strengthen the friendship and solidarity of the ASEAN Community./.
