“We are working and living far from the homeland, but our hearts and spirits are always toward Vietnam. The damage caused by Typhoon Yagi leaves us heartbroken. Hundreds of families lost their relatives, thousands of households lost their houses and livelihoods, and economic losses are estimated at tens of thousands of billions of VND. Faced with such pain, we must act, must share the losses together and help our people overcome difficulties," Consul General Hoang Anh Tuan emotionally shared at the ceremony.

All officials and staff of Vietnamese agencies in San Francisco, including the Consulate General, the Trade Office, the Office of Science and Technology, the Office of Vietnam Airlines, and Viettel, along with spouses of officials and staff of the agencies, all contributed at least one day's salary.

On behalf of all officials and staff at the event, Consul General of Vietnam in San Francisco Hoang Anh Tuan expressed his deep condolences to the families of those who died and were injured in the typhoon. He also expressed his gratitude for the tireless efforts of the rescue forces, especially the officers and soldiers of the armed forces, who have been supporting the victims day and night to overcome difficulties.

"We believe that the tradition of mutual support, solidarity, and mutual love of the Vietnamese people, both at home and abroad, will be strongly promoted in the current difficult circumstances, typhoon and floods. When the typhoon passes, the humanity, the acts of people, the strong will to overcome natural disasters and enemies of our people will remain forever. That is the strength for us to rebuild our homeland together, to restore the losses," Mr. Tuan emotionally shared./.
