With an area of about 50 square meters on the campus of Osaka University, Japan, the Vietnam Studies Center is a facility for coordinating research and in-depth training on Vietnam, providing multi-dimensional data and knowledge about Vietnam. At the same time, it contributes to promoting understanding and good cooperation between Japan and Vietnam.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Dong, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs (SCOV), expressed his pleasure and wished the Vietnam Studies Center to further develop as a bridge between Vietnam and Japan in the coming time.
Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Consul General in Osaka Ngo Trinh Ha expressed his pleasure to attend and co-organize the launching ceremony of the Vietnam Studies Center. The Consul General highly appreciated the establishment of the Vietnam Studies Center, which will open a new phase in the development orientation of the Vietnam-Japan Economic Cooperation Promotion Association in Osaka, as the Japan-Vietnam relationship is developing very well and there is an increasing need for understanding and cooperation between the two sides in many fields from politics - economics and culture - society to tourism – sports.
On behalf of the staff and teachers of the Vietnam Studies Center, Ms. Le Thuong shared that this will be a source of academic knowledge, a basis for creating and knowledge development about Vietnam in many fields, such as: economics, society, politics, history and culture. The center is also a place to enrich quality data and knowledge about Vietnam, serving Japanese government and private agencies in order to promote Japan-Vietnam relations in many fields.
Speaking at the ceremony, Professor Shimizu Masaky, Head of the Department of Vietnamese language, Faculty of Foreign Languages, Osaka University, Japan, expressed his desire to strengthen cooperation agreements between the Department of Vietnamese, Faculty of Foreign Languages, Osaka University, with a number of universities in Vietnam.
This activity aims to exchange students, experts, scientists and lecturers between the university and Vietnamese partners in studying, researching, teaching and working for a limited period of time. The cooperation will act as a bridge to connect the Vietnam Research Association in Japan with Vietnamese experts in Vietnam more deeply and comprehensively, he added.
The center is also a place to organize cultural and economic exchange activities and connect the Vietnamese community in Japan with Japanese people loving Vietnamese language and culture, thereby introducing and promoting the image, country and people of Vietnam to international friends.
In addition, the center's activities will be the link connecting overseas Vietnamese with people at home, actively contributing to the implementation of national unity, helping to enhance the spirit of national pride and self-respect in the community./.
