“FAVIJA Kanto Cup 2021", a football cup for the Vietnamese community in Japan, has taken place successfully.

The cup is an annual activity organized by the Vietnam-Japan Sports and Culture Exchange Association (FAVIJA) under the auspices of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, the government of Kanto, and the support and sponsorship of Vietnamese enterprises in Japan.

Starting from November 21, 80 Vietnamese football teams in Japan competed fiercely to win tickets to the final round of 32 teams with the best results.

Mr. Do Quang Ba, Chairman of FAVIJA, said that in order to successfully organize the tournament, the organizers have thoroughly implemented measures to prevent the COVID-19 pandemic. This cup is not only a sports playground for health training and community engagement, but also has a profound human meaning when the organizers raise funds to support the Vietnamese people in Japan unfortunately meeting accidents or being infected with incurable diseases, especially difficult cases caused by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the end of the cup, the championship was presented to FC Real Tobama.

Footballer Nguyen Phi Phuoc from FC AE38 won the best player award and also received the title of "Vietnamese football ambassador in Japan in 2022."

The total value of the prizes of the tournament is 4.9 million JPY (about 1 billion VND). The championship also received a ball signed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh during his recent visit to Japan./.
