Started in 2013 and inaugurated in 2018, the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Pamakab commune, Phichit province, about 350km north of Bangkok, Thailand, is one of three historical relics of President Ho Chi Minh in the "Land of the Golden Temple". This is the only project designed and built entirely with the budget of the government and local authorities of Thailand, demonstrating the long-standing friendly relationship between the two countries.
According to the Vietnam News Agency, the Ho Chi Minh Museum is a project designed by the Faculty of Architecture of Naresuan University (Phitsanulok province) with the motto of science, modernity and friendliness to facilitate all visitors. The museum has a permanent exhibition area, with the theme "Unveiling mystery of President Ho Chi Minh in Ban Dong through Thai-Vietnamese memories".
The Phichit provincial government considers the Ho Chi Minh Museum a symbol of the Thailand-Vietnam friendship, always paying attention and investment in maintaining, upgrading and expanding the relic site.
At the reception of the delegation of the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand, led by Ambassador Pham Viet Hung, who visited the museum on December 12, Mr. Phuri Hong Thong, in charge of managing the museum, said that since opening in 2018, the Ho Chi Minh Museum has become a prominent cultural and educational tourism destination in Phichit province. The museum has welcomed many Thai and international delegations.
After several years of interruption due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the museum management board is re-organizing many activities, including a plan to restart the mini marathon "Following Uncle Ho's footsteps" from the Ho Chi Minh Museum to Phichit Railway Station in 2025 to promote to the public the history and activities of President Ho Chi Minh in Thailand, especially at the site of Ban Dong, Phichit province.
Ambassador Pham Viet Hung expressed his emotion when visiting the Ho Chi Minh Museum for the first time and was surprised by the very scientific arrangement of the museum, with the display areas and artifacts annotated in Vietnamese, Thai and English, not only vividly recounting the historical period of Uncle Ho's revolutionary activities in Thailand, but also letting visitors know more about local cultural history and the long-standing friendly relationship between the two peoples of Vietnam and Thailand.
Ambassador Pham Viet Hung thanked the Thai authorities at all levels and local people for building, preserving and promoting the historical value of the relic, agreed with the plan to implement upcoming activities of the Museum Management Board, and affirmed that the Vietnamese Embassy will fully support the connection with relevant agencies of Vietnam in collecting documents and artifacts for the museum, as well as coordinate and participate in events and activities organized by the museum to contribute to promoting the museum to the Vietnamese people.
Currently, the Ho Chi Minh Museum has mobilized Thai people of Vietnamese origin, Thai authorities at all levels, and private organizations including Vietnamese people to participate in preserving and promoting the historical values of the Ban Dong community and President Ho Chi Minh.
Previously, the delegation had a working session with leaders of Phichit province./.
