Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador Vu Thanh Huyen congratulated Mr. Juvenal Sakubu on being trusted and appointed by Vietnamese Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son as Honorary Consul of Vietnam in Bujumbura, Burundi.

The Ambassador emphasized the important role of the Honorary Consul in promoting economic, tourism, culture cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between Vietnam and Burundi, and the honorary consular area in particular, as well as effectively deploying Vietnamese citizen protection in the consular area.

She expressed her belief that Mr. Juvenal Sakubu, with his ability, prestige and attachment to Vietnam, will fulfill his duties well, contributing to strengthening the relationship between the two countries.

Honorary Consul Juvenal Sakubu sent his sincere thanks to Vietnamese Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son for trusting him with this honor and responsibility.

He pledged to do his best to fulfill the functions and duties of an Honorary Consul, support the development of the Vietnamese community in the region and promote cooperation in various fields to bring practical benefits to both countries.
