He shared that Fukushima prefecture has experienced natural disasters, so he sympathized with the loss that Vietnamese people suffered during storm No. 3.

On the occasion, Mr. Uchibori highlighted his recent trip to HCMC in September, during which he introduced Fukushima pears to the locals and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vietravel on implementing charter flights between Vietnam and Fukushima.

He emphasized the potential for these flights to boost tourism and strengthen cultural ties between the two sides.

For his part, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu expressed deep gratitude for the support from the residents of Fukushima prefecture, and said that Vietnam received Japan's timely assistance, including essential supplies such as water filtration systems, right after the typhoon.

The Ambassador believes that the sincere friendship is the basis for the two countries to continue to strengthen cooperation with each other, especially in the field of natural disaster prevention and control./.
