After two months of construction, the house, which was funded by Metfone, the Cambodia-based affiliate of military-run telecom group Viettel, and MB Bank in Cambodia, has been put into use.
The work includes the house for preserving the remains of martyrs, and a flower and ornamental plant campus.
Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Nguyen Huy Tang expressed his thanks to Cambodian authorities and people for providing all possible conditions for the construction of the memorial house, a sacred place to pay tribute to Vietnamese volunteer soldiers killed in Cambodia.
He expressed his hope that the Cambodian side continues supporting Vietnam in searching for and repatriating the soldiers.
For his part, General Ek Som Oun, Commander of Military Region 5, the Royal Cambodian Army, showed his gratitude towards the Vietnamese Party, military and people for helping Cambodia topple the Pol Pot genocidal regime and revive the country. He promised to continue to give his best support for Team K73 to carry out this sacred mission in the military zone.
The construction of the House for preserving Vietnamese martyrs’ remains in Cambodia is one of the many meaningful activities to mark the 55th anniversary of Vietnam-Cambodia diplomatic relations./.
