The delegation will spend five days visiting Hanoi, Ninh Binh and Quang Ninh provinces. The program is not only an opportunity for overseas Vietnamese children to return to their homeland, learn and experience the cultural and historical values of the nation, but also an opportunity for them to meet and interact with their peers, together building beautiful and meaningful memories.

The group including 30 students aged from 10 to 13 years old, and five overseas Vietnamese teachers. Early in the morning, the delegation visited the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the Presidential Palace Relic Site. The children were extremely excited to see Uncle Ho's stilt house for the first time, listen to stories of Uncle Ho's love for children and feed the fish.

The President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site is where Uncle Ho lived and worked for the last 15 years of his life (1954-1969), where there are still relics, documents, original artifacts and landscape.

Despite of being born and growing up in RoK, the overseas Vietnamese children were still taught Vietnamese language by their parents and can communicate in their mother tongue. The most touching moment was when the children sang the song “As if Uncle Ho were with us on Victory Day.”

After visiting the Presidential Palace Relic Site, the delegation visited the Temple of Literature. The overseas Vietnamese children were surprised by and admired the tradition of examinations in their homeland when learning about Vietnam's first university for the first time.

On the same day, the delegation visited the Korean Cultural Center in Hanoi and experienced making conical hats. The activity helped the members of the delegation understand more about one of the typical cultural symbols of Vietnam. Through the dedicated guidance of the artisans, the overseas Vietnamese delegation not only learned the techniques of making hats, but also felt the ingenuity and sophistication in each stage.

This visit was not only an experience but also helps the overseas Vietnamese children remember their roots./.
