Overseas Vietnamese Association in Malta established

The Overseas Vietnamese Association in Malta was set up and debuted its executive committee on August 14.

The association aims to promote mutual support within the increasing community.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Italy and Malta Duong Hai Hung said that the Party and State always pay attention to the affairs of overseas Vietnamese, with policies targeting the group increasingly improved.

The Overseas Vietnamese Association will gather the Vietnamese community there, protect their legitimate rights and interests, support them in life and integration into the host country, and preserve and promote traditional culture of Vietnam, said the Ambassador.

Mr. Hung said that the association will connect the group with their home country and help further develop the sound friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

The number of Vietnamese in Malta is about 400 people, as the European country boasts potential for investment, employment and learning./.
