The meeting took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere at the Vietnamese Embassy in Copenhagen on November 24.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Denmark Luong Thanh Nghi said that the Vietnamese community here has about 16,000 people, most of whom are intellectuals. They have actively contributed to the development of the host country, which is highly appreciated by the Danish government and people.

The Vietnamese community in Denmark also actively promotes the teaching and learning of Vietnamese for the younger generation. In spite of living far from the homeland, the Vietnamese community in Denmark always turns to the country with a sincere heart.

In difficult times, overseas Vietnamese are always ready to join hands to support people in the country. Most recently, the community has actively contributed to the COVID-19 vaccine fund and supported people affected by storms and floods.

Sharing with overseas Vietnamese, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha highly appreciated the contributions of the Vietnamese community in Denmark to the Fatherland. He affirmed that the overseas Vietnamese community, including in Denmark, is an inseparable part of the country, contributing to promoting Vietnam’s image to the world. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the Party, State and Government always consider overseas Vietnamese intellectuals as a source of motivation and valuable resources.

He said that 2025 marks the beginning of a new development period of the country with high goals. Vietnam is striving to deeply integrate into the world economy and chooses Denmark as a model for sustainable development.

Mr. Ha expressed his admiration for Denmark, which has long been considered a model for green development and circular economy. Meanwhile, Vietnam is making efforts to integrate deeply into the world. Currently, Vietnam has established diplomatic relations with more than 190 countries and is a comprehensive partner of more than 30 countries.

Vietnam is among the top economically developed countries, with export turnover ranking 15-20th in the world, a stable investment environment and strong growth in foreign direct investment (FDI). In the energy sector, Vietnam is highly appreciated for its energy transition, ranking 5-6th in the world, with the potential to develop renewable energy.

These strengths have attracted many investors from Denmark, a country that has long-standing diplomatic relations with Vietnam and has supported Vietnam through ODA non-refundable aid programs.

The Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated the efforts of the Vietnamese Embassy in Denmark in promoting the relationship between the two countries. He hoped that the Vietnam-Denmark relationship would soon be raised to a new level, with extensive cooperation in the fields of green development and sustainable energy.

Ambassador Nghi promised that all staff of the Embassy would make efforts with overseas Vietnamese to contribute to the development of the cooperative relationship between the two countries.

With the achievements, the Vietnamese community in Denmark is increasingly affirming its position. In the future, the Vietnamese community promises to continue to be an important bridge, contributing to bringing the Vietnam-Denmark relationship to a new level./.
