Overseas Vietnamese in Europe continue to donate to support people affected by natural disasters

In recent days, Vietnamese embassies and communities in countries in the European region have continued donating to support people in the homeland to recover from storms and floods.

The Overseas Vietnamese Association in Slovakia has raised and sent 17,095 EUR to support people in the homeland affected by Storm No. 3 (Typhoon Yagi). The amount of money was raised after more than a week of responding to the call of General Secretary and President To Lam, the Presidium of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, and of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son.

Charge d'Affaires of the Vietnamese Embassy in Slovakia Nguyen Ngoc Anh highly appreciated the positive and proactive spirit of the Vietnamese community in Slovakia and sincerely thanked the Executive Board of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Slovakia and the whole community for actively promoting the spirit of mutual love and promptly joining hands to support people in the homeland to overcome the difficult period.

Previously, officials, staff and their spouses of the Vietnamese Embassy in Slovakia donated one day's salary for each person with a total amount of 8 million VND to support people in northern provinces affected by the typhoon. 

In Poland, the Vietnamese Embassy and community mobilized donations of more than 1 billion VND.

In the Czech Republic, the Vietnamese Embassy, the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Europe and the Overseas Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic launched a donation movement from September 10.

So far, the community has raised 3.3 billion VND and transferred it to the Central Relief Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Duong Hoai Nam highly appreciated the Union of Overseas Vietnamese Associations in Europe, the Overseas Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic and other Vietnamese associations for launching fundraising campaigns to support people in the homeland affected by storm No. 3 and the floods after the storm./.
