A ceremony was held by overseas Vietnamese in Laos to offer incense and flowers to President Ho Chi Minh at the commemorative complex in Xiengvang village, Nongbok district, Khammouane province, on May 16 on the occasion of Uncle Ho’s 134th birthday (May 19).

The event was attended by representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos and Consulate General in Sanvannakhet, Khammouane's administration, and the Vietnamese people association in the host nation.

Right after the ceremony, the delegates and overseas Vietnamese visited the complex’s memorial house highlighting President Ho Chi Minh’s significant contributions to national liberation and the Vietnam – Laos special friendship.

The over-1.5-hectare commemorative site is a cooperative project between the two parties, the two states and the people of Vietnam and Laos. The place marks the activities of President Ho Chi Minh and the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos, aiming to communicate and educate young generations of the revolutionary life of President Ho Chi Minh as well as the special ties between the two nations.

The site was put into operation on December 7, 2012. This is also an important tourist destination of history and culture of Khammouane province and Laos in general./.
