This is a number of precious books specializing in science and technology, worth more than 2.7 billion VND, donated by Dr. Vo Ta Han, an overseas Vietnamese, to Vietnam.
On behalf of Mr. Vo Ta Han's family, Ms. Le Thi My Chau hopes that with these books, the library of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education will create favorable conditions for teachers, graduate students and students to access and research most effectively, so as not to betray the heart and efforts of the donor.
Dr. Vo Ta Han is known as an international expert in financial consulting. He has a lot of experience in working and researching in countries such as the US, Canada and Singapore. For Vietnam and especially for Ho Chi Minh City, he has persistently campaigned, donated, contributed and shipped nearly 1 million books over the past 30 years, with the goal of bringing knowledge to Vietnam, equipping the young generation with knowledge, and helping the country develop.
Through the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in HCMC, Dr. Vo Ta Han’s family donated 1,301 books to the library of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, worth 3.5 billion VND in 2017. This number of books donated to the library of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education is among 9,338 books (worth over 2.7 billion VND) presented to 29 universities in Ho Chi Minh City and other localities.
In the near future, another batch of books worth more than 5 million USD (about 115 billion VND) will also be brought to Vietnam and delivered to libraries and reading rooms./.
