Providing support to overseas Vietnamese affected by pandemic in Cambodia

Overseas Vietnamese in Cambodia’s Kandal and Prey Veng provinces, who are facing tough challenges during COVID-19 quarantine, were supported food from the Vietnamese Embassy and Khmer-Vietnam Association in Cambodia on March 19 and 20.

The Vietnamese Embassy said that markets and essentials services have been available for locals since the first COVID-19 cases were detected in the two provinces.

In addition, livelihoods of the Vietnamese under quarantine have been stabilized gradually, the embassy added.

The Khmer-Vietnam Association in Kandal province on March 20 presented 500 gifts, including rice and noodles, donated by the Associations of Friendship Organizations in Dong Thap province and Tan Chau town in An Giang province, and several Vietnamese philanthropists to Vietnamese-Cambodian families in Luek Daek, Mukh Kamphool, Lvea Aem, Kien Svay and Ponhea Lueu districts.

Earlier, the Khmer-Vietnam Association in Prey Veng province presented rice and noodle to 408 Vietnamese households in Prek Sai Kho commune, and gifts to 135 Khmer families affected by the pandemic through the local authorities./.
