Ambassador Nguyen Vu Tung awards Certificate of Merit to Dr. Tran Hai Linh - VKBIA Chairman

At the meeting, Ambassador Nguyen Vu Tung said that over more than 30 years of diplomatic relations, the Vietnam – RoK ties have made great progress with important milestones, from Comprehensive Partnership in 2001 to Strategic Partner in 2009 and Comprehensive Strategic Partner in 2022.
The leaders of the two countries officially signed and upgraded the bilateral relationship to a comprehensive Strategic Partnership at the end of 2022, a historic milestone opening a new, stronger and more substantive period of development for the relationship of the two countries.
Vietnam and RoK have become each other's most important partners in many fields. In particular, cooperation in economics, trade and investment is both the pillar and the driving force to promote cooperation between the two countries.
In the spirit of comprehensive strategic partnership and on the issues the leaders of the two countries have discussed and agreed upon, the Ambassador also shared some major directions to promote bilateral relations in the coming time.
The Ambassador expressed his confidence that with the VKBIA’s support and companionship with the Embassy in recent years, there have been very positive contributions in many specific fields and very encouraging results.
The Ambassador asked the VKBIA to continue accompanying the Embassy in the coming time and continue strengthening coordination with departments and specialized units such as the investment department and the Office of Science and Technology, Labor Management Board, and Trade Department, to carry out more effective operational programs promoting the Vietnam-Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The Ambassador also asked the VKBIA to continue to maintain good activities as in recent times, such as supporting local cooperation between Vietnam and RoK, and activities towards the Fatherland such as accompanying the country in COVID-19 pandemic prevention, supporting the sovereignty of Vietnam's seas and islands, supporting people in difficult circumstances, and activities to support and develop the Vietnamese community in RoK.
At the meeting, Mr. Tran Hai Linh, member of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and VKBIA Chairman, also discussed summaries of some outstanding activities, such as the Naju city government event, Jeollanamdo Provincial Technology Park, Dongshin University and VKBIA officially signed the "Comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement on investment, research and promotion of construction of traditional villages, ecological urban areas, smart cities with self-reliant energy - carbon neutrality, low carbon emission growth in some localities in Vietnam" on November 23.
On this occasion, Ambassador Nguyen Vu Tung awarded certificates of merit to the VKBIA and five individuals for their positive contributions in promoting economic and investment cooperation between Vietnam and RoK in the 2021-2023 period./.
