Tet festival held in Netherlands for overseas Vietnamese

The Vietnamese Embassy in the Netherlands has held an event to celebrate the Lunar New Year Festival, the biggest traditional festival in a year of Vietnamese people for nearly 500 overseas Vietnamese in the country and those evacuated from Ukraine.

The event was joined by the ambassadors of ASEAN countries in the Netherlands.

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Netherlands Pham Viet Anh emphasized that the celebration is organised after a two-year disruption due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the event, the Ambassador briefed Vietnam’s socio-economic development achievements in 2022, stressing that despite global difficulties, Vietnam recorded a GDP growth of over 8%, adding that Vietnamese communities across the world and in the Netherlands contribute to the national development.

During the event, participants enjoyed musical shows and traditional dishes on Tet prepared by the overseas Vietnamese./.
