Thai Buddhist and overseas Vietnamese delegation visits Vietnam

The State Commission for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs (SCOV), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in coordination with the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Central Committee organized a delegation of the Buddhist An Nam sect and representatives of overseas Vietnamese in Thailand on a visit to Vietnam from November 28 – December 4.

The visit aims to continue to strengthen the cooperative relationship between the two countries' Buddhist Sangha, especially after a long period of interrupted exchanges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as show concern and take care of the Party and State of Vietnam for overseas Vietnamese in Thailand in the spiritual and religious life, as well as strengthening friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.

During the visit, the delegation will have working sessions with the leaders of the SCOV and representatives of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, and the leaders of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Central Committee at the Vietnam Buddhist Academy in Soc Son; and visit Khai Nguyen Pagoda in Son Tay.

Besides activities in Hanoi, the delegation will also work with the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Quang Ninh province, visit Ba Vang Pagoda in Quang Ninh, and visit Tam Chuc Pagoda in Ha Nam./.
