“Vietnam Corner” in Ukraine’s Odessa inaugurated

“Vietnam Corner” in Odessa, Ukraine has been inaugurated, after the Vietnamese Embassy in the country and the overseas Vietnamese community in Odessa contributed to its construction.

The project is built on 500 square meters in the most beautiful region of Odessa Zoo with four frontispieces. 

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Gennady Trukhanov, Mayor of Odessa City, highly appreciated the practical contributions of the Vietnamese community and the humane significance of the project, especially in the context of the current conflict.

For his part, Ambassador Nguyen Hong Thach said that this project demonstrates the friendship between the Vietnamese community and Odessa City. He emphasized that Odessa had created conditions for the Vietnamese community, and the Vietnamese community must also have the responsibility to contribute to Odessa.

After the inauguration ceremony, participants enjoyed an art program performed by artists of the Vietnamese community.

Mr. Igor Chemorkin from the Department of Culture, Tourism, Ethnicity and Religion of Odessa province, said that this is the first project in a public place in Odessa with the image of a friendly Vietnam with Ukraine, and this is also the first project of the Vietnamese community among more than 50 ethnic groups living in the province and city of Odessa./.
