The Honorary Consul also said that Nepalese people's demand for travel to Vietnam has recovered very quickly after the COVID-19 pandemic and the Nepalese market is also trying to diversify the supply of agricultural and household goods, electric cars and others, instead of focusing only on traditional customers.

Ambassador Hai also met and visited representatives of the Vietnamese community in Nepal. He expressed his joy and appreciation that community representatives made the time to get to the meeting, some of whom traveled hundreds of kilometers.

Ms. Kim Cuong, a community representative, said that the lives of 60 first and second-generation Vietnamese people scattered throughout Nepal are relatively stable.

The Vietnamese restaurant chain in Nepal Pho 99, which she owns, is not only a place to promote Vietnamese culinary culture but also become a place to connect and support Vietnamese people to live and travel in Nepal.

Speaking at a meeting with Nepalese businesses organized by the Nepal - Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NVCCI) with the participation of more than 60 members, Mr. Hai introduced about Vietnam as a destination, as well as other opportunities for economic cooperation, trade and investment.

Deepak Malhotra, President of NVCCI, emphasized the urgency of establishing a direct flight to meet the travel needs of Nepalese people to Vietnam, as well as from Vietnam to other countries in the region, especially the countries with a large Nepalese community living and working such as Australia, Japan, and Republic of Korea.

Many Nepalese businesses also expressed their wish that the two sides have more trade promotion activities for greater opportunities to explore the market and meet the needs of diversifying supply./.
