Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Ukraine Nguyen Hong Thach said that the organization of the exhibition shows the positive development of the close ties of friendship, despite enduring numerous difficulties.

He added that the exhibition also conveys the enthusiastic support of Ukrainian friends for the embassy's activities to promote mutual understanding and co-operation between the two countries.

For his part, Konstantin Chernyavsky, Head of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, highlighted the initiative of the Vietnamese Embassy in inviting various Ukrainian artists to draw the Vietnamese landscape and its people, noting that the paintings serve to give Ukraine people greater insights into Vietnam through sketches of their native painters.

At the ceremony, a number of representatives from several Ukrainian social organizations also applauded co-operation with the Vietnamese Embassy as part of efforts to help the two peoples learn more about each other through the implementation of joint cultural projects.

On this occasion, Ambassador Thach awarded certificates of merit to Zakapatia painters who submitted pieces to the exhibition, as well as individuals who actively contributed to organizing the event./.
