Vietnam’s traditional culture introduced at Winter International Fair in US

Vietnam has attended the 11th Winter International Fair for the Diplomatic Corps in 2024 in Washington DC, the capital of the US.

This is an annual cultural activity held for the Diplomatic Corps since 2011. This year, the event attracted a record participation of nearly 70 representative agencies in Washington DC after a 4-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the fair, the Vietnamese booth attracted the attention of local people and international friends with traditional Vietnamese cultural and handicraft products such as bamboo dragonflies, conical hats, traditional long dress (Ao Dai), high-quality silk scarves with sophisticated patterns and brocade fabrics.

Lacquer art, oil paintings of Vietnam and Ao Dai collections by famous Vietnamese designers displayed at the fair were notable highlights of the booth.

On this occasion, the Embassy also promoted agricultural products such as cashew nuts, sesame candy, green tea, coffee and introduced famous tourist destinations of Vietnam.

The organizers highly appreciated the booth and participation of the Vietnamese Embassy at the 2024 Winter International Fair. Particularly, Vietnamese silk scarves along with items from Rwanda, Mexico, Tunisia countries were selected by the organizing committee to introduce as the unique cultural products of the fair on television channel Fox 5.
