Vietnam wishes to further strengthen cooperation with Qatar

The Vietnamese Embassy in Qatar has held a ceremony to celebrate the 79th National Day of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2024) at the Sheraton Hotel in Doha, Qatar.

Speaking at the ceremony held on September 17, Vietnamese Ambassador to Qatar Nguyen Huy Hiep highlighted the great significance of September 2, 1945, in the history of national construction and defense.

Ambassador Hiep sent his sincere thanks to the international community for their timely support to communities affected by natural disasters in Vietnam.

In addition, the Ambassador emphasized a number of important achievements of Vietnam in socio-economic development and expanding foreign relations and cooperation.

Expressing his delight for Qatar's comprehensive development in recent years, Mr. Thiep congratulated the Qatari people on their many important victories in the cause of national construction and development under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

He emphasized that Qatar is an important partner of Vietnam in the Middle East region, the friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries over the past three decades is built on trust and common interests; and affirmed that Vietnam wishes to further strengthen the friendly cooperation with Qatar, especially in the fields of trade, investment as well as new areas such as digital transformation, green energy and Halal industry.

On this occasion, Ambassador Hiep also thanked the King, Royal Family and Government of Qatar for creating favorable conditions to support the Vietnamese community in Qatar, and welcomed all international friends to Vietnam - a country with a rich, unique culture and a glorious history of thousands of years, with vibrant cities and beautiful natural landscapes.

At the ceremony, the Vietnamese Embassy in Qatar screened a clip promoting Vietnam's new development achievements; introduced to international friends many typical dishes of Vietnamese cuisine such as pho, fried spring rolls and chewy sweet potato soup, and displayed some typical export products of Vietnamese localities such as: aloe vera juice, asparagus tea and Sterculia foetida sap of Ninh Thuan province; coconut candy, coconut oil and coconut rice of Ben Tre province; cashew nuts of Binh Phuoc province; green bean cake and silk of Hai Duong province; tea of Ho Chi Minh City, coffee of Central Highlands provinces and handicraft products imbued with Vietnamese culture./.
