A ceremony was recently held by the Vietnam Education Publishing House in Hanoi to debut a bookshelf of Vietnamese books in Fukuoka, Japan in both offline and online forms.

The ceremony followed the success of the activities in response to the government’s project “Day to honor the Vietnamese language in the overseas Vietnamese community in the 2023 - 2030 period.”
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Pham Van Thang, who is in charge of the Board of Members of the Vietnam Education Publishing House, informed that over the past 66 years, the publisher has compiled and published many books for study, research, teaching the Vietnamese language, literature and culture, especially some book collections on teaching Vietnamese to overseas Vietnamese, including the latest entitled “Hello Vietnamese” compiled by Dr. Nguyen Thuy Anh.
The publisher and the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs (COVA) have been organizing training courses to share methods of teaching Vietnamese to children in overseas Vietnamese communities, building libraries, introducing books, popularizing Vietnamese culture abroad, and providing Vietnamese language teaching and supporting materials worldwide, he added.
At the ceremony, the publisher and the Vietnamese Consulate General in Fukuoka (Japan) launched the Vietnamese bookshelf at the Consulate General's headquarters.
The publisher will continue to develop the next levels of the “Hello Vietnamese” book series to cover all 6-level teaching materials according to the Ministry of Education and Training’s program. In addition, they will do research on teaching Vietnamese to Vietnamese students and foreign students keen on learning Vietnamese in some specific areas.
After the launching ceremony, a refresher course on teaching Vietnamese to overseas Vietnamese children was also organized. During the course, Dr. Nguyen Thuy Anh shared her teaching methods and experience gained in the past and guided teachers to carry out practical activities in class./.
