According to Prof. Nguyen Xuan Huan, VIS President, the association mobilized 4,000 GBP within just two days, not only from Vietnamese intellectuals in the UK but also from British friends. This reflected the development and prestige of VIS in the country.

Meanwhile, the Vietnamese community in Liverpool transferred 1,000 GBP to the account of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee to aid the victims.

Ms. Lam Oanh, head of the charity division of the Vietnamese Women and Children's Association in the UK, said that by the end of September, the association had raised a total of 10,588 GBP. On September 22, the representatives of the association came to the northern provinces of Cao Bang and Lao Cai to present gifts to more than 100 households, each worth 1 million VND. The association will soon hand over 5,000 GBP to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee.

On September 27, Mr. Tang Tuan Tu, VAUK Chairman, presented 100 million VND to the VFF Central Committee in Hanoi , while VBUK had previously transferred more than 236.7 million VND to the VFF.

The Vietnamese community in Birmingham has donated 33,060 GBP, which will soon be presented directly by the community's representative in Vietnam.

The support of the Vietnamese community in the UK shows the spirit of national solidarity and the tradition of mutual love of Vietnamese people no matter where they live./.
