Vietnamese community in USA’s Connecticut looks towards homeland

In a friendly and open atmosphere, the Ambassador welcomed the meaningful and practical contributions of overseas Vietnamese in strengthening economic, scientific and educational cooperation between Vietnam and the US; emphasized that the Party and State of Vietnam always pay great attention to and consider the overseas Vietnamese community in general and in the US in particular as an integral part and extremely important resource for the development of the country.

He expressed his hope that professors, doctors, lawyers and engineers will play a nuclear role, widely gathering Vietnamese intellectuals in this area, contributing to building the local Vietnamese community to always look towards the homeland, becoming more and more united and strong, commensurate with the scale and position of people of Vietnamese origin in the US.

Ambassador Giang also affirmed that the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations will always accompany and join hands with Vietnamese intellectuals in Connecticut to continue contributing to the common interests of the nation, as well as the development of the Vietnam - US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

On behalf of the Vietnamese intellectuals at the meeting, Mr. Tran Thang, Head of the Vietnamese Institute of Culture and Education in the US, thanked the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations and Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang for their attention to the Vietnamese intellectual community in New York and Connecticut.

He expressed his joy about the country's socio-economic and foreign affairs development achievements over the past time, including the enhancement of Vietnam-US relations to a new height.

Representatives of the community affirmed that they will continue to contribute their intelligence and efforts to activities and projects that promote cooperation between the two countries and attract investment and resources in essential areas for the development of the country in the new phase./.
