Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Hungary Nguyen Thi Bich Thao reviewed the economic and diplomatic achievements that Vietnam has made in the context of the international and domestic situation facing difficulties and challenges.
For Hungary, despite the changes in the world, the region and in each country, despite the geographical distance, the comprehensive partnership between the two countries with a history of 74 years has been increasingly nurtured, connected and more trustworthy after the visits of the leaders of the two countries.
With continuous efforts over the years, the Vietnam-Hungary relationship has become a model relationship, as the Hungarian high-ranking leader said during his meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh during his visit to Budapest earlier this year.
Ambassador Thao thanked the Hungarian Government for always providing support and assistance to create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in the host country to live, study, work and integrate into the local community, and being an important factor bridging the relationship between the two countries.
She thanked the Hungarian side for their great support, assistance and the cooperation of the Diplomatic Corps in Budapest and the Hungary-Vietnam Friendship Association at the final reception on the occasion of the National Day before ending her term of office
The Ambassador expressed her gratitude and appreciation to the Vietnamese community in Hungary, which has integrated with their second homeland over the years, preserved and nurtured the friendship between the two countries and contributed to Hungary’s development; while always preserving the beautiful image of the Vietnamese people.
Ms. Illés Boglárka, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations of Hungary, emphasized that Vietnam is an outstanding important partner of Hungary in the Southeast Asian region and is one of the first countries with which Hungary established diplomatic relations in 1950.
The two countries upgraded ties to a comprehensive partnership in 2018 during late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s official visit to Hungary.
At the celebration, the participants enjoyed an art program to celebrate the 79th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day, a photo exhibition and traditional dishes of Vietnam and Hungary./.
