Vietnamese Embassy in Japan hosts ACT Bowling Tournament 2023

The Vietnamese Embassy in Japan successfully hosted the ACT Bowling Tournament 2023 on May 14 within the framework of activities of the ASEAN Committee in Tokyo (ACT) towards the 50th anniversary of ASEAN-Japan relations.

This year's bowling tournament attracted the participation of Ambassadors, officials and family members of 10 embassies of ASEAN countries in Japan. Representing the Japanese side to participate in the tournament was Secretary General of the ASEAN-Japan Center Kunihiko Hibarayashi and his spouse.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu, Chairman of the ACT Bowling Tournament 2023, affirmed that this is one of the annual activities within the framework of the ACT, contributing to enhancing understanding and cohesion among embassies of ASEAN member countries.

This is the first annual ACT bowling tournament held since 2019, after 3 years of suspension due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mr. Kunihiko Hibarayashi, Secretary General of the ASEAN-Japan Center, highly appreciated the Vietnamese Embassy in organizing the ACT Bowling Tournament 2023, emphasizing that the event is an opportunity to further tighten the friendship and cooperation with the embassies of ASEAN countries in Japan with the host country, especially on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of ASEAN-Japan relations.

At the end of the tournament, the Organizing Committee awarded the first, second and third prizes to the teams from the Malaysian, Filipino and Lao embassies, respectively./.
