A delegation from the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia led by Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi has visited the Lao Embassy to offer congratulations on its 49th National Day (December 2, 1975 - 2024).

At the meeting, Ambassador Khoi emphasized the special fraternal relationship between the two Parties and Governments and people of Vietnam and Laos, referencing a recent diplomatic event that Vietnamese Communist Party General Secretary To Lam talked over the phone with General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith, extending his best greetings to the Lao Party, State and people on the occasion, according to the Vietnam News Agency.
He recalled the significant, comprehensive and historical achievements that Laos has achieved over the past 40 years of reform, particularly its successful chairmanship roles for the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits and related Summits and the 45th ASEAN Inter – Parliamentary, saying they have garnered recognition and support from ASEAN ambassadors to Moscow.
Within the framework of their diplomatic representation in Russia, the Vietnamese and Lao embassies have maintained a close relationship, mutually supporting each other in diplomatic activities.
The two sides have jointly commemorated significant national holidays through various cultural and sports exchange events, and provided mutual consultations on emerging issues related to their missions as well as support for their respective communities, he added.
For his part, Lao Ambassador Siphandone Oybuabuddy said he has been deeply moved by the profound sentiment between the two countries, hoping that the close-knit exchange tradition between the two embassies will be further developed, contributing to improving the coordination of the two diplomatic representative agenices and the Vietnam – Laos friendship as well as their relations with Russia.
The two diplomats agreed on coordination to organise various external and exchange activities in celebration of several commemorative milestones in 2025, including the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day and the 50th anniversary of Laos’ National Day./.
