Vietnamese Embassy in Turkey celebrates 79th National Day

In his opening speech, Vietnamese Ambassador to Turkey Do Son Hai reviewed the historical significance of the August Revolution, National Day, heroic milestones of the nation, and commemorated the great contributions of our ancestors in building and defending the country.

Regarding bilateral relations, Ambassador Hai emphasized that Turkey is an increasingly important partner of Vietnam in the fields of politics, economy, national defense and tourism. In November 2023, Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh paid an official visit to Turkey on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of Vietnam - Turkey diplomatic relations. Vietnam's first Prime Ministerial visit opened a new stage in the history of bilateral relations.

Two-way trade increased from 1.6 billion USD in 2021 to 2.2 billion USD in 2022 and 3.2 billion USD in 2023, and the two sides are now aiming for 4 billion USD.

On behalf of the Turkish government, Deputy Foreign Minister Mehmet Kemal Bozay sent warm congratulations to Ambassador Do Son Hai and the Vietnamese people on this important holiday.

He affirmed that Turkey is ready to cooperate closely with Vietnam on the basis of bilateral and multilateral relations as well as contribute to maintaining regional and international peace and stability.

The Deputy Minister encouraged Vietnamese students to study in Turkey, saying that he would strengthen scholarship programs and educational cooperation between the two countries in the coming time.

Notably, the Ankara Stamp Association displayed a large collection of stamps about Vietnamese history. The stamp collection is a testament to the Turkish people’s affection for the country and people of Vietnam.
