Vietnamese golf tournament in Japan raises funds to support disaster victims at home

The VUAJ Charity Golf Open Tournament 2024 has been successfully held at Windsor Park Golf and Country Club in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan.

This is the first time the Vietnam Union Association in Japan (VUAJ) has organized a sports event for the community with the joint organization of Vietnamese associations in Japan.

The event is not only a playground for golf enthusiasts in the Vietnamese community in Japan, the organizers also called on participants to donate to support people in localities that have recently suffered natural disasters.

With the support of the Vietnamese Golf Association in Japan (VGAJ) and the Vietnam-Japan International Exchange Organization (FAVIJA), this tournament gathers Vietnamese and Japanese golfers, businessmen and those who love golf sports.

At the event, golfers donated 130,000 JPY to send to people affected by natural disasters in some localities in Vietnam.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Hong Son, VUAJ Chairman, said that the VUAJ Charity Golf Open Tournament is not only a sports tournament, but also demonstrates the solidarity, humanity and responsibility of the Vietnamese community in Japan for their homeland.

The Best Gross award, honoring the golfer with the best performance in the tournament, was presented to Nguyen Tan Thanh, a golfer with many years of experience in this sport./.
