Vietnamese language competition launched in Hungary

A competition named “Vietnam in my heart” held by the Budapest Vietnamese Language Centre in order to promote the Vietnamese language was launched in Hungary on September 8.

The event was organized to celebrate the day honouring the Vietnamese language (September 8) and enhance the love for the Vietnamese language and strengthen the connection among young overseas Vietnamese to the homeland in the European country.

Mr. Tran Anh Tuan, Head of the Budapest Vietnamese Language Centre, said that the competition is open to various forms, such as essays, poetry, articles, video clips, and drawings. The competition will runs from September 8, 2024, to March 7, 2025.

Speaking at the event, Charge d'affaires Le Trong Ha praised the efforts of teachers in preserving the Vietnamese language in Hungary.

He pledged that the embassy will continue support for the centre, particularly during the contest's period.

The embassy will also collaborate with the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (SCOV) to provide 10 sets of "Fun Vietnamese" books to the centre, he added./.
