Vietnamese language festival held in Moscow

A Vietnamese language festival was organized by the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia, the Overseas Vietnamese Association in the country and the Moscow State Linguistics University on September 7 to honour and promote the learning of Vietnamese language in Russia.

The event was to respond to the Day for Honouring Vietnamese Language in Vietnamese Communities Abroad (September 8).

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi said this is the third year the Vietnamese Festival held in Russia.

The event aimed at encouraging students to learn the language, and researchers to continue their studies on Vietnam to help the two countries get closer.

Svetlana Glazunova, a lecturer of the Vietnamese language at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), stressed that it is an opportunity for lecturers and teachers to meet and exchange experiences in teaching the Vietnamese language, and for Russian students to communicate with Vietnamese peers.

On the occasion, Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi presents certificates of merit to Russian students who gained outstanding achievements in learning Vietnamese, as well as Vietnamese language teachers at universities in Russia.

At the event, Vietnamese students performed many unique art performances, while Russian students recited poems and sang typical Vietnamese songs./.
