Vietnamese Students’ Association in New Zealand holds 2nd congress

The congress reviewed the Vietnamese students’ movement in New Zealand, evaluated the association's activities over the past two years and worked out goals and directions for developing the students’ movement in the coming term.

The congress also elected a new executive board of 13 members, a secretariat of four members, and key positions of the association.

Mr. Nguyen Dang Nhu Thanh, from New Zealand IPU College, was elected as the President of the Vietnamese Students’ Association in New Zealand for the 2024-2026 term.

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to New Zealand Nguyen Van Trung highlighted the association's achievements in organizing the students’ movement in New Zealand.

As a member of the Vietnam Students’ Association Central Committee, the Vietnam Students’ Association in New Zealand has promoted its key role, mobilizing and gathering a large number of students nationwide and has had many meaningful activities, especially supporting new students, organizing exchange activities, sharing experiences and connecting students, contributing to promoting the image, culture, country and people of Vietnam.

The Ambassador expressed his hope that the Vietnam Students’ Association will make more contributions in promoting people-to-people exchanges, connecting the community and cultural and sports movements of the Vietnamese community in New Zealand in 2025 as the two countries celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

The Vietnamese Students Association in New Zealand was established on March 30, 2022, and is a member of the Vietnam Students’ Association Central Committee, gathering a large number of students across New Zealand./.
