At the meeting with the UDRU leaders, Ambassador Hung congratulated the great achievements of UDRU on more than 100 years of development, expressing confidence that the university will increasingly be a prestigious and strong academic institution, contributing to training new intellectuals to serve development, making Thailand a leading developed country in the world.

The Ambassador expressed his gratitude and appreciation to UDRU for establishing and putting into operation the Vietnam Studies Center at the university, hoping that the university will coordinate with the Vietnamese Consulate General in Khon Kaen to organize more diverse activities at the Vietnam Studies Center to help bring knowledge about Vietnam to students, researchers, or Thai people who want to learn about Vietnam.

On this occasion, Ambassador Hung also presented two books by the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to the Vietnam Studies Center.

According to Dr. Viboon Pensuk, Vice President of the UDRU, the university has cooperated with 14 educational institutions in Vietnam. In recent years, the University and Vietnam’s universities have organized many exchange activities under the internship and multicultural experience programs.

There are a total of 212 Vietnamese students studying at UDRU in many different fields.

Ms. Duong Bich Ngoc, a member of the Center's management board, said that although the Vietnamese Studies Center has only been established for a short time, it has organized a number of outstanding activities such as Lunar New Year festival for Thai students studying Vietnamese at the center and Vietnamese students studying in Thailand; organizing a language and culture camp in Nong Khai for students from high schools across Thailand that have teaching programs in Vietnamese language.

In 2026, Vietnam and Thailand will celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations. This will be an important occasion for Vietnam and Thailand, and localities of the two countries, to organize meaningful activities to celebrate this important milestone, Ambassador Hung said./.
