The event was organized by the Vietnamese Professionals in Japan (VPJ) in coordination with FPT Japan Holdings (FJP) with three main speakers: Ms. Nguyen Hoang Linh, FJP Deputy Director; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Nghia, former Research and Training Assistant at the Asian Development Bank Research Institute (ADBI); and Ms. Doan Phuong Thao, a consultant at the Kawasaki City Administration.
According to the representative of the organizing board, this is an opportunity for Vietnamese women in Japan to interact with excellent speakers who have overcome difficulties and successfully broken through in their career development journey as well as maintaining family happiness.
In addition, the event also created opportunities to expand relationships, contributing to building a Vietnamese community that supports each other in the working environment in Japan.
At the event, the speakers mainly focused on sharing their own practical experiences when working and developing their careers in Japan, such as always being dedicated to their work, ready to accept all challenges.
In addition, they also emphasized that Vietnamese women need to break prejudices about women’s role in work and society, but still strive to ensure the role of wife and mother as the tradition of Vietnamese women for thousands of years.
When starting their business in Japan, Vietnamese women are usually very young, while their work often requires contact with older partners and customers. Therefore, they must always be confident in themselves, showing their best ability, enthusiasm and youth, speaker Nguyen Hoang Linh said.
In the group discussion, the participants had the opportunity to share their personal experiences through everyday stories, learning from each other about career development thinking as well as maintaining a happy family life.
VPJ is a non-profit organization operating since 2016 which gathers young Vietnamese professionals working in Japan.
With the mission of becoming a community that connects and shares information, VPJ has organized many events to exchange and connect businesses with the community, along with discussions, sharing about careers, interview training and career counseling to support the Vietnamese community in Japan to develop their expertise and careers.
This is the third event in a series of community activities of VPJ in 2024 with the expectation of creating a useful and practical playground, helping Vietnamese women in Japan have more choices and stronger determination to develop their careers and build family happiness in the Land of the Rising Sun./.
