The Vietnamese Youth and Students Association in the Czech Republic held its congress for the 2024 - 2029 term on March 9 with the participation of 40 delegates representing students from universities in the Czech Republic.

During the 2019-2024 term, the Vietnamese Youth and Students Association in the Czech Republic organized the 8th Vietnamese Youth and Student Festival in Europe in 2022; established and organized the first scientific conference for Vietnamese Young Intellectuals in Europe in 2022, which attracted the participation of hundreds of Vietnamese Young Intellectuals in the Czech Republic and neighboring countries.
In 2020, the association participated in a discussion on the East Sea and the role of overseas Vietnamese youth in protecting sovereignty over seas and islands, held in Paris, France.
Particularly, during the COVID -19 pandemic, the association called for donations to buy medical equipment in the Czech Republic to send to people in Binh Xuyen district of Vinh Phuc province, as well as mobilized doctors, psychologists, interpreters, journalists, lawyers and volunteers to support the community in sharing, finding information, consulting, and providing medical examination through online when infected with the SARS-CoV-2 and post-COVID-19, and organized a program to support the Vietnamese community to do COVID-19 test free of charge.
Speaking at the congress, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Duong Hoai Nam highlighted the association’s efforts to prove its position and value through pioneering and taking the lead in organizing meaningful activities for young people in the host country as well as Europe.
At the congress, a new 22-strong executive board was elected, with Vu Dieu Ha elected President of the association in the new term.
The association was established in 1993 under the sponsor of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Czech Republic. It has played a core role in connecting young Vietnamese people in the host country and Europe at large./.
