The event was held on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Vietnam – RoK diplomatic relations and the 15th anniversary of the Vietnamese Student Association in the Republic of Korea (RoK).

The 8th ACVYS was held under the auspices of the Vietnamese Embassy in RoK and Vietnam’s Ministry of Science and Technology, with the coordination of the Vietnamese Student Association in Da Nang.

The conference attracted hundreds of scientists, graduate students, and Vietnamese and international students studying and living in RoK. The organizing committee received nearly 100 submissions for reports in various fields, including from the Vietnamese Student Association in Da Nang.

The scientific council at the conference, consisting of professors and doctors with rich academic and research experience, selected 7 reportage topics in the fields of physics, energy and materials science, life science and biomedicine, chemistry and chemical engineering, computer science – information and communications technology, building and structural engineering.

In addition, the Vietnamese Young Scientist Award in RoK (VYSK 2022) launched by the Organizing Committee also received 24 applications. The Scientific Council selected five outstanding young scientists in five fields, including biotechnology; information and communications technology; new material technology; medical technology and environmental technology.

Highly appreciating VSAK's efforts to organize the conference, Vietnamese Ambassador to RoK Nguyen Vu Tung emphasized that the overseas Vietnamese student community in RoK is growing stronger. This is a high-quality intellectual human resource that makes an important contribution to the development of Vietnam and the Vietnam-RoK diplomatic relationship.

He expressed his hope that in the future there will be more and more exchange events to strengthen the relationship between the two countries, especially in the fields of education, science and technology.

This year's conference also received a congratulatory speech from Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui The Duy. In his congratulatory speech he said that nearly 70,000 overseas Vietnamese students in RoK are quality human resources, contributing to the intellectual and scientific workforce of Vietnam.

After seven years of organization, the conference has become a meeting place for young scientists, Vietnamese and foreign experts to exchange, cooperate in research and apply projects in many fields of science and technology into practice./.
