Ensuring supply of goods
Right from the outbreak of COVID-19, the sector has strictly followed the disease situation, worked with businesses and localities to implement supportive measures and ensure sufficient supply of essential goods, while suggesting businesses commit to stabilizing the price of essential goods.
In particular, it has announced a list of 1,598 stores and locations selling essential goods; arranged 42 goods storage locations and 23 control points to ensure the volume of reserves goods across all 13 localities in the province. The value of reserve goods so far is over VND2 trillion.
Three goods distribution teams have been established on duty across 13 localities to master the information of daily supply and demand of goods, leading to stable goods prices.
Strict measures have been carried out to master the market situation, and encourage supermarkets, trade centers, businesses and distributors to sign good supply contracts with suppliers, in order to stablise the market.
Removing difficulties for businesses
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien, Director of Quang Ninh provincial Department of Industry and Trade, said that the department had proposed some logistics enterprises to support warehouse rent and reduce loading and unloading costs for businesses during the impact of COVID-19, while closely working with related sectors to seek solutions for agricultural products.
Accordingly, the department has suggested the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade and Vinmart in Quang Ninh create conditions for mushrooms, Quang Ninh’s One Commune One Product (OCOP), that are unsold due to COVID-19, to be consumed at Vinmart supermarkets, Vinmart + stores and other distribution channels nationwide.
Additionally, it has proposed the State Bank of Vietnam help the Quang Ninh Seafood Production and Trading Company to borrow from the VND250 billion package or from other sources to serve production and business activities.
Meanwhile, the power sector has been directed to ensure sufficient supply for goods production and goods preservation in case of higher levels of COVID-19 prevention.
At present, the Quang Ninh industry and trade sector continues to actively coordinate with authorised agencies to strictly implement COVID-19 preventive measures, and develop specific plans to continue solving businesses’ difficulties to help them gradually restore and develop production during COVID-19 prevention./.
