The Resolution of the 15th Quang Ninh provincial Party Committee, for the 2020-2025 term, proposed to build Quang Ninh into a modern industrial and service province, one of the dynamic and comprehensive development centers of the North.
The congress passed the Resolution of the 15th Quang Ninh provincial Party Committee, for the 2020-2025 term, with the overall goal of strengthening the building and rectifying the Party and a clean and strong political system; promote solidarity, democracy, discipline, innovation; mobilize the general strength to promote rapid and sustainable socio-economic development, improve people's life in all aspects; firmly ensure national defense and security.
The Congress elected the Executive Board of the 15th Provincial Party Committee, for the 2020-2025 term, including 53 comrades; and the Executive Board elected the Standing Board, including 15 comrades; Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee Commission of Inspection and the Provincial Party Committee Commission of Inspection, for the 2020-2025 term, including 11 comrades.
Comrade Nguyen Xuan Ky, Secretary of the 14th Provincial Party Committee, was re-elected Secretary of the 15th Provincial Party Committee, for the 2020 – 2025 term; Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ngo Hoang Ngan, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Thang were elected to be Deputy Secretaries of the Provincial Party Committee, for the 2020 – 2025 term.
The Congress elected 21 official delegates and two alternate ones to attend the 13th National Party Congress.
Politburo member and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan attended the congress, during which she lauded efforts it has made to become one of Vietnam’s leading localities in terms of economic growth, provincial competitiveness, administrative reform and IT application.
To achieve higher growth, Ngan requested Quang Ninh to continue renewing its ways of thinking and doing, speeding up economic restructuring in combination with growth model change, concentrating on services, hi-tech industry and agriculture, and supporting industry, and increasing support for start-ups.
The province should bring into full play its potential and advantages to create new motivation for growth, while using resources appropriately and effectively to achieve sustainable development, and promoting connectivity in the key northern economic zone.
It is also necessary to soon complete the making of the province’s planning for 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 in accordance with national and regional planning, and avoid overlapping in planning.
Over the past five years, Quang Ninh has experienced high and sustainable growth, with an average annual growth rate of 10.7 percent. Average GRDP per capita is estimated at 6,700 USD in 2020, twice the country’s average figure./.
