The province is rich in valuable tangible and intangible cultural heritages, including 142 relics and many antiques, customs, belief, traditional festivals, folk performing arts and handicrafts.
It was the first time Quang Ninh organized a ceremony in April 2019 to announce national treasures of Dau Ram pottery vase from Phung Nguyen cultural epoch, dating back 3,000 - 3,400 years ago and a Ngoa Van - Yen Tu golden box founded in An Sinh commune, Dong Trieu town, dating back to the fourteenth century.

This August, the Quang Ninh Department of Culture and Sports completed the dossiers which were then submitted to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to inscribe Tra Co communal house festival and Van Don traditional festival into the list of national intangible cultural heritage. The province also organized a ceremony to honor 12 artisans in the fields of the intangible cultural heritage.
Since January 2019 to now, Quang Ninh has one more national-level relic of Mao Khe Coal Mine and 3 provincial-level relics of Cam Hai communal house, Ngoc Vung communal house - shrine, the first establishment of the Communist Party of Vietnam in Mong Cai city. The dossier of Van Don ancient trade port relic, which is being gradually completed to be submitted to the competent authorities for approval, is a special national relic.

Quang Ninh has actively implemented policies which combine the tangible and intangible culture heritages with socio-economic development activities, particularly in tourism field to promote and spread the values of heritages.
Accordingly, it has many relic sites, traditional festivals, craft villages in associated with attractive tours and tourism routes such as Yen Tu relic site in Uong Bi city, Tran dynasty in Dong Trieu town, Bach Dang in Quang Yen town, Cua Ong temple in Cam Pha city, Cai Bau pagoda in Van Don district, Xa Tac temple in Mong Cai city, thereby helping Quang Ninh promote its strength in spiritual and historical tourism.

Thanks to the concern and great participation of enterprise community and locals, the values of cultural heritages in Quang Ninh have been well preserved and promoted.
In 2019, the Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industries Group (VINACOMIN) has supported relics concerning coal exploitation; Tung Lam Development JSC suggested to build Thuong Yen Cong Dao ethnic culture village at the foot of Yen Tu mountain; and Vingroup sponsored Tran Dynasty’s relics in Dong Trieu town./.
