The lifejackets cost over VND200 million, taken from the capital resources of the provincial steering committee on natural disaster prevention and rescue work.

As the families work on ships and boats or fish farming, the activity aimed to minimise water accidents, and increase people’s awareness about water work safety.

The district has 600 small and large islands, 20 of which are inhabited by people. It creates 5 island communes in which people live on fish catching and raising. These are people who need to give special attention to water safety. Therefore, granting lifejackets is of great significance for poor and disadvantaged families./.
