Quang Ninh province inaugurates first social housing project

The Hoang Ha coloured pottery company has inaugurated a social housing and workers’ housing project in Dong Trieu district, the northern province of Quang Ninh, the first of its kind in the province.

The project is being built on an area of 91,945 square metres, providing 493 flats of 36-68 square metres each. It includes one section of one-storey attached houses, three sections of 3-storey apartment buildings, one 6-storey apartment building and one 2-storey pre-school.

The project also includes food stores and groceries.

After being completed, the houses will be sold to workers and low-income people on instalments.

Constructed with a total capital of VND338 billion, it is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2018.

Speaking during the ground breaking ceremony, Nguyen Van Doc, Quang Ninh provincial People’s Committee Chairman, asked the company to ensure the quality and progress of the construction.

He stressed that the province paid great attention to building houses for low-income people; therefore, he requested enterprises to issue policies to create favourable conditions for labourers to access the houses.

Nguyen Tran Nam, Deputy Minister of Construction, praised the province for building social housing and houses for workers with adequate social and technical infrastructure./.
