About 500 foreign athletes to compete in Ha Long Marathon Tour

(CPV) – On October 27, Ha Long International Marathon Tour 2013 will be co-organized by the Quang Ninh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, North Star International Construction – Tourism Ltd. Co and Ha Long Bay Marathon Organization Committee.
The event is among the activities welcoming the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Quang Ninh province and the 40th anniversary of Vietnam – Japan diplomatic ties.
About 500 professional and semi-professional foreign athletes will join the tour, 80 percent being Japanese and the rest being Australian, American and South African. 100 domestic competitors will be invited to the tour.
Athletes will compete at distances of 5 kilometers, 10 kilometers, 21.5 kilometers and 42.195 kilometers. In additional, about 1,000 participants mobilized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will join a 2 kilometer marathon.
Ha Long International Marathon Tour 2013 offers chances for Vietnamese marathoners to meet and exchange experiences with high-ranking international athletes from Japan, South Africa, Thailand and Hong Kong (China)./.
