(CPV) - On the occasion of the 22nd anniversary of the International Day of Older Persons (October 1, 1991 – October 1, 2013), the leaders of Dong Trieu district, Quang Ninh province visited and presented gifts to 9 elderly people who have reached 100 years of age.
The elderly people are in the communes of Binh Duong, Thuy An, Viet Dan, Hong Phong, Duc Chinh, Tan Viet, Hung Dao and Xuan Son.
The district’s Association of the Elderly now has nearly 18,000 members. They are always good examples in social activities such as mobilizing their families to donate land to build roads, build cultural houses in villages, or build new rural areas.The leaders of Dong Trieu district sent greetings to the elderly people and hoped the elderly in the district would always be good examples for the national construction and defence movement, especially the movement of new rural construction, contributing to make Dong Trieu district into a town in 2014./.
