(CPV) - On the morning of October 15, the Quang Ninh Department of Trade and Industry and Long Hai Co., Ltd. organized a program to deliver Long Hai seaweed jelly free of charge to fishermen in Phong Hai ward, Quang Yen town, Quang Ninh province.

Accordingly, each of 300 fishing vessels in the town with a capacity of 30CV or more will recieve five Long Hai seaweed jelly boxes (value VND1 million). The goal of the program is to support fishermen to use free products to expand distribution channels in rural markets as well as help fishermen to access to more Vietnamese products.

The rural market in general and the market for fishermen in particular have always been considered a potential market. According to the Department for Aquatic Resources Exploitation and Protection, Vietnam has around 83,000 fishing vessels, in which Quang Yen town has around 40,000 units with a capacity of 20CV or more.

However, fishermen have little information and opportunity to access consumption products suitable with their living conditions. Seizing this opportunity, Hai Long Co., Ltd. is actively cooperating with the Quang Ninh Department of Trade and Industry to continue to bring Long Hai seaweed jelly free of charge to remote and island areas of Quang Ninh province. The program has a total worth of over VND3 billion from the launching to the end of this year.

The campaign "Vietnamese people give priority to use Vietnamese goods" has real significance when Vietnamese businesses pay interest in and implement a strategy to occupy the domestic market./.
