Quang Ninh honours 100 outstanding businesspeople

(CPV) – On October 17, the Quang Ninh Cooperative Alliance Business Association, together with the Quang Ninh Business Association, organised a meeting to honour 100 outstanding businesspeople for their contributions to provincial socio-economic development.

Speaking at the honouring ceremony, Do Thong, Standing Deputy Chairman of the Quang Ninh People’s Committee, said that the number of businesses in Quang Ninh grew sharply from 289 in 2000 to 8,912 in 2013. The activeness and creativeness of the businesses circle contributed to the province’s establishment and development process, and international integration.

The businesses created jobs for more than 350,000 workers, contributing to the province’s GDP growth and budget. In addition, they actively participated in social activities such as building new rural areas, bringing the national power grid to Co To island and raising funds to build gratitude houses and welfare projects.
